Since 1995, San Diego EarthWorks Restoration and Renewal Projects have recruited, trained, and coordinated more than 1,000 volunteers from schools, community groups, businesses and environmental organizations to restore natural and urban areas of San Diego.
Non-native plants and debris were removed from Mission Trails Regional Park, Sweetwater Wildlife Refuge, San Dieguito River Park, Rose Canyon, Torrey Pines State Preserve in Del Mar, Sherman Heights downtown, and Florida Canyon in Balboa Park. Restored areas are renewed by planting native plant species, in riparian areas volunteers learn to test for water pollutants. With your support, volunteers from throughout San Diego County will take direct action for a better natural environment in San Diego.
